I made another trek to Wonderful Travel Agency in Central Square, and dropped off extra passport photos . . . finally Jun, the indefatigable travel agent, can send out our visa applications. She will have to overnight them to us next week. In typical Spy-Tripp style, everything will get done, but nothing will be done the easy way!
Tomorrow's meimei task will be to order the enormous amounts of cash we need to carry to China. Of course, this is something I should have done last month!
Something very lovely happened today . . . my dear friends Anne, Lou, Maeve, and Gioia sent flowers to my office, to celebrate the upcoming adventure! I have never gotten flowers at work before, and I was totally excited and surprised! A beautiful journal was delivered with the flowers. Very serendipitous, because a few days ago I realized I haven't started a "book" for Xi Le. All the other kids have their special "books", in which I recorded the details of their baby/childhoods, and, in Libby's case, my anticipation as our meeting date drew closer. So now Xi Le has her own book, which I will start writing in tonight.
