Whistling a Happy Tune . . .

See the gorgeous, beaming girl front left in the first row? (Next to adorable lad in purple jacket and striped sash?) Well, that lovely child is one of Libby's first friends--yes, it is Nora, daughter of my dear friend Eileen, who shared my first adoption journey to China.

And now little Nora is an off-Broadway star!

Libby, Leilei, Sarah, and I journeyed to Waltham to see the Reagle Players production of The King and I on Saturday night. I love the show, and this production was excellent. Of course, the King of Siam's children were enchanting--especially Nora--but the entire cast was wonderful. Sets, costumes, orchestra--the entire show was thoroughly professional. I think there may be a few performances left--so run, don't walk! You just don't get to see too many musicals these days, so don't pass it up.

Congratulations to Nora (and to her mom for schlepping her back and forth to rehearsals, shows, etc.!) I asked Libby if she would ever want to be in such a production and she said fervently, "no, it is too much work!!!!"
