Happy Year of the Rat!

It's the last day of Chinese New Year, the Lantern Festival.
Speaking of lanterns, I was so glad Ed called me to convince me to tear myself away from American Idol, and to go outside and check out the lunar eclipse last night! The moon looked just like a glowing red lantern. Truly impressive!
I told Kit to come out and look also. I ALMOST woke Libby up to look, but it is school vacation week, and she and I have delighted each other enough for one lifetime! We both needed a break!

Hope the link works. Alas, mine rarely do. Anyway, this photo sequence doesn't capture the soft red color that made the eclipse such an incredible sight.

Here's another link that I hope will work:
My friend Mary DePalma is teaching a class in picture book illustration:

I would really like to take this class! Will have to see if child care can be arranged. Mary's work is so lively and fun
